Courses Contents & Modules

Ideal for the senior buyer, contract manager or supply chain manager, the Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply is designed to provide the expertise to improve organisational procurement and to fulfil organisational objectives. It helps people develop the knowledge base to reduce cost, improve quality and timescales, manage the supply chain and deal with legal issues.

The 8 modules at this level (2 x full modules, plus 6 x half modules):

  • CORE M1 – Managing Teams & Individuals – Organisation behaviour. Development of management and individuals. Human capital management. IT software in recruitment. Regulatory aspects of employment.
  • CORE M2 – Managing Supply Chain Risks – Bribery and corruption. Standards for sustainable procurement – UN, ILO, ETI. Project management. Contractual remedies. Third parties in managing risks. International standard.
  • CORE M3 – Managing Contract Risk – Understand risk associated with contracts.
  • CORE M4 – Advanced Contract & Financial Management.
  • CORE M5 – Managing Ethical Procurement & Supply Chains.
  • ELECTIVE M6 – Category Management
  • ELECTIVE M7 – Achieving Competitive Advantage Through the Supply Chain
  • ELECTIVE M8 – Project & Change Management.

Entry Requirements

You will need to have studied the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement & Supply.

Module Examinations

Assessment is by a 3 hour written examination (for the 2 full modules) or 1.5 hour Multiple Choice exams (for the 6 half modules). CIPS exam weeks are detailed on the course schedule.

NB. All students have to join CIPS as a Student Member (£187)
