To achieve the MCIPS certification, you must obtain the CIPS Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply, complete over 30 hours CPD and successfully obtain a CIPS Ethics Certificate. See CIPS website for more details on this journey.

Aspire is a CIPS Centre of Excellence. We exist to share our wealth of experience with aspiring procurement professionals. We are here every step of the way to make sure you achieve a qualification which is going to benefit your career.

CIPS Level 4 is the highest entry point to start your journey to MCIPS and is aimed at graduates or professionals with at least 2 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain function. Level 4 focuses on all aspects of the Procurement Cycle.

CIPS Level 5 will help you to grow in confidence, improve organisational procurement and fulfil strategic objectives, around reducing costs, improving quality, managing the supply chain and dealing with legal issues. CIPS Level 6 is targeted at building strategic direction and advice, in areas such as change management, stakeholder management and team leadership.

There are numerous benefits to becoming MCIPS qualified:

  • MCIPS is a degree equivalent qualification, and the global standard for the procurement profession. MCIPS professionals are in high demand.
  • The annual CIPS and Hays Recruitment Salary Survey confirms that those with MCIPS report a significantly higher annual salary than those without. In addition to this differentiation in pay, their survey showed that MCIPS qualified professionals were more likely to receive an annual salary increase than non-MCIPS professionals.
  • If you’re hoping to progress to a senior role within procurement, the CIPS and Hays Recruitment Salary Survey also confirm that the majority of employers prefer candidates with MCIPS (or studying towards MCIPS) when recruiting. MCIPS is a globally recognised qualification and proves dedication to professional development, a mindset which is highly sought after by employers.
  • Becoming MCIPS qualified will serve you well throughout your career, supplying you with the relevant skills and knowledge to apply within your organisation.
