Operations Manager (Level 5) Apprenticeship

Designed for individuals who manage teams, projects, and operations within an organisation. It focuses on developing skills in areas such as operational planning, resource management, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving.

There are no mandatory professional qualifications as part of the Level 5 Operations Manager apprenticeship standards. However, our employers and learners tell us that professional qualifications add value to the learner and the organisation. As a result, we have created numerous adaptations of the training plan that allow for specific professional qualifications and knowledge aligned to the departments and functions in which they work, to be added to the programme. Learners will obtain the skills to manage teams and individuals, operational performance, contracts, suppliers, risk, finance, data and more - driving performance success in your organisation.​

Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship duration:

Apprentices will spend 18 to 24 months on programme (before gateway to EPA), working towards the occupational standard, with a minimum average of 6 hours off-the-job training per week.

Funding required:

The levy funding band for this apprenticeship is £9,000.

The apprenticeship levy covers all of the following items:

  • All tuition, books, materials and access to the Digital Learning Zone
  • End Point Assessment
  • All reviews and coaching with the skills coach

Exclusions​

  • Membership to trade bodies and institutions is not permitted via the levy
  • Optional qualification exams cannot be funded via the levy, so exams are chargeable
  • All EPA re-sits and withdrawal fees are also payable​
  • Any co-investment charge required​

End Point Assessment (EPA)

The EPA consists of three distinct assessment methods:

  • Submission of Portfolio of Evidence and Q&A
  • Project Report (4,000 words)
  • Presentation and Professional Discussion

Performance in the EPA will determine the apprenticeship grade of fail, pass or distinction.
