Which Study Method Is Right for You?

Exploring Your Options for CIPS and APM Qualifications

Choosing the best way to study is just as important as choosing the right qualification. Whether you’re working towards a CIPS qualification or an APM Project Management qualification, the key is finding a learning style that fits your schedule, confidence level and the way you learn best.

At Aspire, we offer a range of study routes designed to support every type of learner. Here’s a closer look at your options.

Classroom Learning

Classroom Learning continues to be our most popular route – and it’s easy to see why. You can choose to join us online via Zoom or attend sessions in person at one of our UK study centres. Each session is live, interactive and designed with collaboration in mind. You’ll be able to ask questions in real time, take part in discussions, learn alongside peers and get immediate guidance from experienced tutors. If you enjoy structure, accountability and real-time interaction, this is likely your perfect fit.

Assisted Self-Study

If you prefer studying independently but still like knowing support is there when you need it, Assisted Self-Study strikes a great balance.
You’ll work through the learning materials at your own pace, with optional live tutor sessions available to help you tackle trickier topics or get clarification along the way.
This is ideal for learners who want flexibility without losing access to expert guidance.

Self-Study

For motivated and confident learners, Self-Study offers complete freedom.
You can work through the content entirely on your terms, while still having full access to the Aspire Digital Learning Zone.
If you need help at any point, you can add tutor support by the hour – perfect for those occasional moments where you want reassurance or expert input without committing to scheduled classes.

Personal Tutoring

If you’re looking for a tailored experience, Personal Tutoring gives you one-to-one time with a dedicated tutor.
You’ll receive a set number of Zoom hours to use whenever it suits you – evenings, weekends, whenever your diary allows.
This option is flexible, personalised and ideal for those who want consistent support or who are juggling demanding work and life commitments.

Study Buddy

Studying with a friend or colleague can make the journey more enjoyable – and more motivating.
Our Study Buddy option lets two learners share Personal Tutoring hours at a reduced cost, so you both benefit from tailored support. It’s a great choice for workplace teams developing skills together or simply for those who prefer not to study alone.

Looking for something a bit different?

If you’re considering a structured, work-based route, our Apprenticeship programmes offer another excellent pathway. Apprentices benefit from classroom learning with our expert tutors, giving you the same high-quality support while gaining practical, on-the-job experience. It’s a strong option for organisations looking to develop teams or individuals seeking to advance their careers through funded training. Click here to find out more about our apprenticeships.

So, which one is right for you?

There’s no single “best” study method – it all comes down to what will help you learn confidently and consistently. Whether you thrive in a classroom, prefer working independently or want personalised one-to-one support, we have an option that will fit around your goals, lifestyle and learning style.
