As a regulated awarding organisation, CIPS must ensure that all learners taking its qualifications are assessed in English. To avoid any potential language barriers, CIPS exam questions are not UK centric, ensuring that learners whose first language isn’t English aren’t disadvantaged.

All of the information within the CIPS website, all literature and assessments are in English and therefore, CIPS would expect a student member to have a basic comprehensive of English language reading and writing skills when embarking upon their studies. As such, we would not be able to approve a reasonable adjustment for a language barrier.

Under CIPS guidelines, any student under the age of 18 are not permitted to take examinations remotely. In this case, you must take your exams at a CIPS exam centre.

You have a grace period of up to 30 minutes on the day of your exam. However, it's important to note that being any later than this is subject to the discretion of the test centre and the invigilator.

If you miss your exam, the next chance to take it will be in the upcoming exam series. CIPS holds exams in five series: March, June, July, September and November. You will be automatically rescheduled for the next available exam window, and there may be additional exam fees.

You cannot choose your exam date for CIPS exams. CIPS has a two-week period within the exam window where they set the dates for CR (constructed response) exams. The availability of OR (objective response) exams depends on the chosen exam location.

However, some flexibility is possible for remote exam sittings, allowing you to select the OR exam dates within the given week. Aspire will make effort to accommodate your requests.

You are only permitted to bring in your own mouse or keyboard if you have applied for reasonable adjustment and it has been approved.

Regrettably, it is not possible to choose an alternative exam date as the dates are determined by CIPS. However, you will have the option to take the exam during the next scheduled exam series.

Students will be provided with a PIN by the invigilator. Their initial task is to download the app and log in to ensure the correct exam modules are visible. If you encounter any issues logging into your VICTVS account.  Please contact the support team here.

If you are unwell during your exam you will need to provide medical evidence and on receipt your exam will be cancelled
You will only receive a refund for your exam fee as the exam venue fee/remote invigilation fees are non-refundable.
You will need to submit a new booking for the next available exam series and will be required to pay the exam venue or remote invigilation fee only.Â
